A hot water or steam cooker for cooking particulate food products like fish, meat, vegetables, shrimps or the like comprises a housing (10) in which a cooking department is defined. An apertured conveyor belt (18) is moved through the cooking compartment by means of a motor (46). A number of water inlet channels (30) and a number of water outlet channels (32) are positioned below the conveyor belt. The inlet channels communicate with a first reservoir (34) and the outlet channels communicate with a second reservoir (48). Between the first and second reservoirs, a return channel (52) is provided. For producing a forced circulation flow from the first reservoir through the conveyor belt and back to the second reservoir, a steam ejector (53) is provided. <IMAGE> |
