PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the engine efficiency, fuel consumption of a hybrid vehicle by controlling drive assist by a motor and the air-fuel ratio of a mixture supplied to the engine. SOLUTION: When lean-burn drive is allowed with a air-fuel ratio leaner than the stoichiometric air-fuel ratio (FLEAN=1) and a motor assists the drive (FASSISTON=1), S174 and S175 set a target lean air-fuel ratio coefficient KCOML2 according to the assist level, that is, the motor power MOTORPOWER. If lean-burn drive is not allowed, S172 set a target air-fuel ratio coefficient KCOM to 1.0 corresponding to the stoichiometric air-fuel ratio. |
