POWER FAILURE WARNING DEVICE IN VTR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the power failure warning device that easily reports a type of power failure to the user after the restoration of power failure when a power failure takes place during video recording of a program subjected to timer reservation. SOLUTION: An AC clock control circuit 1 detects a power failure and its restoration of a VTR and provides an output, a timer microcomputer 2 obtains a power failure time from the power failure detection signal and the power restoration signal and provides an output of a power failure consecutive time, a power failure generating time and a power failure end time to a VTR servo microcomputer 3. Then the VTR servo microcomputer 3 calculates power failure information (power failure consecutive time, power failure occurrence time and video recording ratio) and an on screen display(OSD) control microcomputer 4 is used to generate screen display character string to report the power failure information to the user, it is outputted to an OSD-IC 5 and a signal changeover circuit 6 selects the OSD character signal outputted from the OSD-IC5 or a video signal 8 and the selected signal is displayed on a CRT 7.
