<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a personal computer device in which the display switching between a CRT monitor and an LCD monitor is simply done by a flip of a switch not by a board exchanging operation. SOLUTION: The GND terminal of a ROM 11 of LCD BIOS is switched to +5V or a ground by a sliding switch SW so that the ROM 11 is either made operational or nonoperational. Whenever the switching of the SW is conducted, a reset pulse is generated and transmitted to the MPU of the personal computer. When the reset pulse is generated, the MPU is activated and the presence or the absence of BIOS of the ROM 11 is detected. If the BIOS exists, the display is switched to the LCD monitor. If not, the display is conducted by a PC monitor. If the GND terminal of the ROM 11 is connected to +5V, the ROM 11 is not activated and the MPU can not detect. Conversely, the GND terminal of the ROM 11 is grounded, the ROM 11 is activated and the MPU detects.</p> |
