Unit consists of an inclined chamber (1) with its axis sloping at between 10 and 45 deg. to the horizontal, having an inlet at its upper and an outlet at its lower end, and equipped with injectors (20-22) for steam and/or molasses. It also has an outer heater and two inner bladed rotors with a drive (10,11) to turn them in opposite directions. The lower part of the chamber has tubular heat exchangers, and its wall has temperature probes (23) which control the position of an adjustable outlet shutter (17) and valves (21) linked in series with the injectors. |
