In a process for checking a hollow body section, said section is subjected to a bursting test after being filled with a fluid for checking its resistance to brittle fractures. After the opening of both open ends is closed, the required bursting pressure is supplied by dynamically displacing towards each other two elements that extend in a tight manner through the opening of the open ends.
