Child protector for vehicle seat

The child protector (2) consists of two spaced-out side chambers (3) and a bridging U-shaped table chamber (5) divided into lower chamber (7) and upper chamber (6). The upper chamber has a table surface (9) and the two chambers are separated by an intermediate chamber (8) that supports the abdominal region of the child. The table surface of the upper chamber is made of a highly elastic material which stretches more easily then the rest of the upper chamber. When the vehicle is jolted backwards, air is forced out of the intermediate chamber, causing the upper chamber table surface to bulge so that it forms a cushion which is effective in a head-on collision.
