Pivoting bending machine for bending or folding e.g. copper plates

The machine has fixed and movable jaws or carrying elements 16,18, and bending side plate 30 consisting of a light metal which are pretensioned against longitudinal bending stress. A carrying element has an aluminium hollow profile for supporting a fixed clamping jaw 18, in whose longitudinal axis is located a tension-resistant metal bar 38 which can be adjustably deflected. The bar is a pipe screwed onto the ends 40 of the hollow profile and can be deflected by use or a threaded 48 screw device 44. The ends of the hollow profile are closed with end plates made from aluminium.
