The key assembly comprises an elongate cap, for receiving a pressing force, having an actuating post mounted on the bottom of it and located at a centre. A pair of locating posts mounted on the bottom of the cap are located respectively at the two ends, each post having an upper and lower mounting block. The mounting blocks have confronting ends defining a mounting slot and being defined by an inclined short side and an inclined long side intersecting on an apex such that the short sides are aligned with each other while the long sides are parallel to and spaced from each other. A hollow key base is mounted on an IC board, defining a hole extending through it for receiving the actuating post to enable a reciprocal movement. A pair of locating walls mounted on the IC board, each define a space for receiving a corresponding locating post to enable a reciprocal movement. A supporting member has two portions respectively extending through the mounting slots on the locating posts and two further portions respectively snappingly received in a pair of mounting seats defining closures such that each slot can have enlarged opening ends to facilitate the first two portions of the supporting member to be extended through the mounting slots.
