PURPOSE:To obtain a culture device for plants capable of readily ensuring a proper intrarow spacing in the conveying direction and row direction of the plants from planting to harvesting by constructing the device so as to enable conveyance of the plants to a harvesting line while extending the intrarow spacing with growth of the plants. CONSTITUTION:In the above-mentioned device for cultivating plants, the length of a carrier 4 for carrying plant body holders 3 is reduced and intrarow spacing is decreased in a stage of ungrown plants. When the carrier 4 is conveyed in the forward direction with carrier driving units 11 as the plants 2 grow, expanders 5 which are main parts of the carrier 4 are extended to enlarge the carrier 4 and extend the intrarow spacing. Further, since parallel link mechanisms are utilized in the expanders 5, there is hardly any middle slackness in the vertical and horizontal directions. The holders 3 in which the plants are set can be readily loaded and the intrarow spacing can be accurately extended. Both ends of the expanders 5 in the carrier 4 are connected to sliders with connecting rods 8 and can be slid on fixed rails 9. |
