COMPOSITE FIBER STRUCTURE USABLE IN DISASTER-PROOF CLOTHING

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To impart heat resistance, heat insulating properties, water absorbability, water retention and waterproof properties by allowing the whole to absorb water when water is sprinkled from a shower or hose at a time of a fire. SOLUTION: Cloth as an element consisting a composite fiber structure is composed of a natural cellulose fiber fabric to which disaster-proof treatment is applied and has a limit oxygen index of 28-33. A first intermediate layer is provided so as to be adjacent to the cloth and constituted of a nonwoven fabric with a limit oxygen index of 28-33 and has water absorbability of 1,000-3,000g per 100g/m<2> in free water absorption over 20min at 20 deg.C. A second intermediate layer is provided so as to be adjacent to the first intermediate layer and constituted of a nonwoven fabric with a limit oxygen index of 28-33 and has water absorbability of 700g per 100g/m<2> or less in free water absorption over 20min at 20 deg.C and a basis wt. of 70-200g/m<2> . Further, lining cloth is provided so as to be adjacent to the second intermediate layer and composed of a fabric to which disaster-proof treatment is applied having a limit oxygen index of 28-33 and has a rubber layer on the side of the second intermediate layer.
