The fryer has a receptacle (8), which holds the hot oil, and a perforated plate (1). This is moved between a position in the oil and a position above it. The plate has a tongue (2) joined to it and is raised by a lever (6) joined to the handle (5) of the receptacle. The tongue is articulated (3) on the lever and the lever itself is articulated (4) on the handle. The plate is raised vertically when the lever is pressed and it is blocked against the handle by a flexible hook (7) engaging in a hole (9) in the lever.
