PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a cosmetic which contains a powder of granite porphyry (a kind of medicinal stone), adsorbs sebaceous matters, control greasiness, shows excellent skin acre effects such as moisture retaining effect or skin conditioning effect and has high stability and high safety to skin. SOLUTION: This cosmetic contains, as an active ingredient, a powder of granite porphyry, which has been used as a medicinal stone, in an amount of 5-25wt.%, preferably 10-20wt.%. The median particle size of the stone is 5-15μm, preferably 5-10μm. In addition, usual aqueous components, dust components, oily components, surfactants, humectants, thickeners, microbicidal agents, preservatives, perfumes, colorants, buffering substances are suitably formulated to prepare solution, emulsion, foundation, dispersion, pack and the like. This cosmetic has the effect that removes soilings, keratinized skin, waste matters and excessive sebum on the skin surface effectively.
