PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery (lithium secondary battery) high in discharging capacity. SOLUTION: Graphite is used as a negative electrode, in which the interplant distance (d002 ) of its face (002) based on a X-ray wide angle diffraction method is less than 0.336nm, and an inertia radius (Rg) obtained by a X-ray small angle scattering method, is less than 25nm. The aforesaid graphite can be obtained by crushing natural graphite by a jet crusher using discharge pressure equal to or more than 5Kgf/cm<2> .
