The system has a drain chamber enclosed by a housing and containing inlet and outlet ports, the first opened and shut by a plug and the second connected to a drainpipe. A holder (10) is coupled to the plug (8) at the inlet port (5), and at the bottom of the chamber (3), to an external actuating mechanism (13) preferably fixed to the housing (4). The holder is also coupled to a spring (18) which thrusts the plug into the open position for cleaning. The holder can be formed by a bar sliding in a guide tube (21) with its bottom end (12) protruding out of the housing. At the top end, the tube may be mounted in a strainer (9) inserted in the inlet port.
