PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an antipruritic agent, composed of an extract of petals of Impatiens balsamina L., free from side effects and having excellent antipruritic effect. SOLUTION: This agent is composed of an extract of petals of Impatiens balsamina L., preferably the extract containing a flavonoid compound of formula I, etc., or a naphthoquinone compound of formula II, etc. Among pedals of Impatiens balsamina L., white pedals are preferably used because they can give an extract having excellent antipruritic effect. Examples of a polar solvent to be used for extraction include methanol, ethanol, acetone, etc. A daily dose of the antipruritic agent is preferably 0.1μg to 800mg for every 1kg of body weight when it is used as a medicine. |
