The measuring probe has an optical frequency filter (OF) with light conduction elements (4)arranged in a grid array and coupled to an opto-electronic transducer and an illumination device (17,18,19) for transmitting light through the flow medium containing the suspended particles. The optical frequency filter has an additional light conduction element (14) with a reduced cross-section, the illumination device allowing parallel projection of the particles onto the optical frequency filter including the additional light conduction element.
