The container internally has at least on one element, e.g. base (1), walls (2,3) or cover (6), with a pocket for an interchangeable, alternative thermal element (7). The pocket and thermal element match in size and form. The element is detachable so that the container can be fitted with elements which have either a cooling or a heating effect. The element can be clipped into position and be removable using finger pressure and the walls, base and cover of the container are double-skinned, hollow and preferably extrusion-blow moulded.
