The locking mechanism of the binding is closed by moving the foot which is to be fixed in the binding approximately parallel to the surface of the snow-board. The locking mechanism is connected to a security line which can be used to open the lock. Guide strips or plates on the surface of the snow-board serve to direct the movement of the foot so it can close the binding. The security line can be guided up to knee level.
