The dental cleaning apparatus includes cleaning elements which are provided on a handle, whereby the cleaning elements are formed as flexible cloths providing a capillary action for retaining a liquid. The cloths are preferably, at least partially, bundled, and comprise different lengths and different surface hardness, to enable a reliable reaching of spaces between the teeth. The cloth base or the cloth reception in the handle are formed respectively as an active agent depot, so that active agents can flow through the capillary effect of the cloths onto the surface to be cleaned. An electric motor may be used to reciprocate or rotate the cloth receptions and/or the active agent depot.
