PURPOSE:To uniformly discharge and occlude gaseous H2 and to improve fuel efficiency by packing fine granular metal hydride in a part of the entire storage space, and using the remaining space as the hydrogen retention part. CONSTITUTION:An engine 2 is started to rotate a driven pulley 22 through a bevel gear 23, an electromagnetic clutch 20, a driving pulley 21, and a belt 24, hence an alloy tank 3 contg. fine granular metal hydride 12 in a part of its space is rotated on supporting pipes 5 and 6, and the metal hydride 12 is agitated by a screed 14. Cooling water for the engine 2 is heated, and the hot water is allowed to flow in passage pipelines 11 from a circulating passage 4 through supporting pipe 5 and an intervening member 10 to heat the metal hydride 12 in the tank 3. Consequently, gaseous H2 is generated, discharged into the retention part 13 as the space in the tank 3, and then supplied to the engine 2 through a pipeline 17. |
