PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the display of multiple gradations and multiple colors by selecting one voltage signal from plural voltage signals according to digital display data and supplying this signal to an X signal line. SOLUTION: An analog-to-digital conversion means 6 converts analog display data 2 which is the input to the digital display data 7 of 2-bit by its voltage value. A multivoltage level output generating circuit 8 generates the voltages of plural levels meeting the gradations. In such a case, the signal of the voltage level corresponding to the gradations O is outputted to the signal line 9 and the signals of the voltage levels corresponding to the gradation 1, the gradation 2 and the gradation 3 are outputted to the signal lines 10, 11, 12. An X driving means 15 successively takes in the digital display data 7 of 2-bit for one line by a latch clock 3, selects one of the four gradation voltages outputted to the signal lines 9, 10, 11, 12 by the decoding value of the data of each dot and outputs the same as panel data X1 to X640.
