PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve an aging method in which electric discharge is carried out only in a discharge slit but not in a reverse slit by reducing a discharge starting voltage of the discharge slit by aging, and maintaining a high discharge starting voltage of the reverse slit. SOLUTION: When a pulse signal is applied from an aging device 120, a potential difference is generated in a maintaining electrode forming a discharge slit; while no potential difference is generated in another maintaining electrode forming a reverse slit, in which a constant potential is kept. Consequently, electric discharge is performed only by the discharge slit in aging. Even if a pulse signal of a high voltage is output from the aging device 120, the reverse slit cannot perform the electric discharge. Therefore, only a discharge starting voltage of the discharge slit is reduced depending upon aging while a discharge starting voltage of the reverse slit cannot be reduced, so that a difference in discharge starting voltage between the discharge slit and the reverse slit after the aging securely becomes greater. |
