PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a glass fiber suitable for a glass fiber-reinforced thermoplastic resin used under a high temperature and moisture environment, having high mechanical characteristics such as tensile, bending and impact strengths and excellent in hot water resistance by coating a converging agent containing a tripolyphosphoric acid salt on the surface of the glass fiber. SOLUTION: This glass fiber is coated with an epoxy, etc.,-based converging agent containing a tripolyphosphoric acid salt such as sodium tripolyhosphate, potassium tripolyphosphate (adhering amount of the triphlyphosphoric acid salt is preferably 0.05-1.5wt.% based on the glass fiber) on the surface. The glass fiber is preferably blended in 2-80wt.% to a matrix resin. |
