PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep the condition of developer near a developing roller equal to the condition of developer in a hopper even in use for a long time. SOLUTION: A developing device has a developing roller 11, a thin layer forming member 12 to form the thin layer of developer T on the developing roller 11, a buffer 16 located between the developing roller 11 and a hopper 15 to hold the developer T required to form the thin layer on the developing roller 11, an opening for the developer T to be supplied from the hopper 15 provided on the buffer 16 and a supply means 17 to intermittently supply the developer for the hopper through the opening 10 to the buffer 16. In this case, the buffer 16 and the hopper 15 are positioned for the upper face of the developer T stored in the hopper 15 to be located under the lower end 19 of the opening 10. |
