PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polyoxymethylene composition which can be molded into mechanical parts having improved appearance and reduced in functional troubles without raising a problem of pollution of the working (hygienic) environment by mixing a specified antioxidant with magnesium oxide and/or calcium oxide and a silane compound. SOLUTION: This composition is prepared by mixing 100 pts.wt. polyoxymethylene which is a polymer mainly consisting of structural oxymethylene units (CH2 O) and may be either a polyoxymethylene homopolymer or a copolymer, a terpolymer or a block polymer each of which contains a small amount of structural units other than oxymethylene groups with 0.01-3 pts.wt. hindered phenol antioxidant, 0.001-0.5 pt.wt. magnesium oxide and/or calcium oxide each having a particle diameter of 100μm or below and a specific surface area of 10m<2> /g or above and 0.00001-2 pts.wt. silane compound represented by the formula: (R1 )m O-Si-(R2 )n [wherein R1 is H, a 1-6 C alkyl or phenyl; R2 is H, a 1-32C alkyl or phenyl; (m) is 1-4; (n) is 0-3; and m+n=4].
