A hollow plastic component through which fluid flows comprises a main body (12) with two free ends (13, 14) closed by end pieces (16, 17) with connectors (21). One or more flow channels (18) in the main body(12) run parallel to the axis (26) and end at the end pieces (16, 17) which have a mixing zone (24) extending along at least one flow channel (18). In the production of the component, a heater is placed between the ends (13, 14) of the main body (12) and the ends (27, 28) of the end pieces (16, 17) and the connecting surfaces (13, 14, 27, 28) are melted and pressed together. A use for the component is claimed as a cooling member, especially in faeces pits in animal stables or alternatively as a heating element in buildings. Preferably the main body (12) and end pieces (16, 17) are made of a chemical and UV resistant thermoplastic with good impact resistance, preferably polypropylene with a density of 0.7-1.4g/cm<3>. The main body (12) is extruded and the end pieces (16, 17) are injection moulded. The wall thickness of the main body (12) and end pieces (16, 17) is 0.5-2 mm, preferably 1.0-1.5 mm. A lamellae like main body (12) can be up to 12 m long. End pieces (16, 17) are welded or bonded to the basic body (12). |
