PURPOSE:To obtain flat sensitivity in all the visible wavelength region and in the semiconductor laser beam wavelength region by forming a layer containing a specified bisazo pigment as an effective component on a conductive substrate. CONSTITUTION:The layer to be formed on the conductive substrate contains as the effective component at least one of the bisazo pigments 13 represented by formula I in which Ar is a coupler residue. As the coupler to be used as ArH for preparing the bisazo pigment, for example, aromatic hydrocarbon compounds having a hydroxyl group and heterocyclic compounds having a hydroxyl group, such as phenols and naphthol are used, thus permitting the obtained electrophotographic sensitive body to be easy in manufacture, high in sensitivity, and stable in characteristics at the time of repeated uses. |
