PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize both of base isolation and limitation of excess displacement to earthquakes of various magnitudes. SOLUTION: A supporting structure of bridge girders is so constructed that a laminated rubber 4 is installed between the upper and lower works 2, 3 of the girders, to be used as a base isolation support. A shock absorber 5 comprising a cylinder 11 in which a fluid is sealed, a piston 12 which is reciprocatably installed in the cylinder 11, and where an orifice 13 is bored, a piston rod 14 connected with the piston 12, and a spring 15 which pushes back the piston 12 outward, is installed between the upper and lower works 2, 3, the cylinder 11 is fixed to one of the upper and lower works 2, 3, and a forward end of the piston rod 14 is disposed opposite to the other at a predetermined interval. |
