The crankcase ventilator incorporates an oil separator (1) in the shape of an elongated chamber (20) and a tangential crankcase gas inlet pipe (3). An outlet pipe (5), which extends down into the chamber, forms a suction tube (51) parallel to the chamber's lengthwise axis. The suction tube is surrounded by a sealed deflector (6) which faces towards the bottom of the chamber and connects the outer wall of the tube (51) to the inner walls of the chamber, allowing oil deposited on the tube to flow down. The deflector is in the shape of a truncated cone, and it has a series of apertures round its outer edge for the oil to flow through.
