Light conductor to opto-electronic component coupling apparatus for optical communications

The apparatus has a light conductor in the form of an optical waveguide (2) integrated into a carrier plate (1) for the optoelectronic components (5) and extending to at least one end of the plate. The end of the light conductor and the end of the plate form an acute angle. The resulting inclined surface of the light conductor end causes total internal reflection. The components are mounted on the carrier plate so that the inclined surface (4) of the light conductor deflects the signal light either to the optoelectronic components, e.g. photodiode or laser diode, or directly to the optical conductor.
