A method of completely sterilizing caps maintaining safety to human body, and an apparatus therefor. A predetermined number of caps (C) are charged into carriers (20) which are then successively passed through three chambers (9, 10, 11) in a sterilizer box (2) equipped with an exhaust fan (5). In these chambers are carried out pre-washing using recycled ozone water, main sterilization using high-ozone-concentration water and rinsing using low-ozone-concentration water in this order.
