摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such problems as the reduction of the activity of a catalyst for removal of NOx and the deterioration of the formability of the catalyst in the production of the catalyst by adding molybdenum oxide to catalyst paste contg. compds. of titanium and vanadium, kneading them and adding inorg. fibers so as to improve the mechanical strength and wear resistance of the resultant catalyst. SOLUTION: Water is added to compds. of titanium and vanadium and they are well kneaded. Molybdenum oxide as well as inorg. fibers is added and kneading is carried out or inorg. fibers are added, kneading is carried out, molybdenum oxide is added and kneading is carried out again. The resultant kneaded material is molded, dried and fired to produce the objective catalyst contg. oxides of titanium, vanadium and molybdenum, having high denitrating performance, excellent in wear resistance and mechanical strength and less liable to poisoning by noxious substances in exhaust gas.
