PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To performs extra-length processing and efficiently store many optical fiber tapes separated from a terminated cable without any waste by specifying the height and width of the extra-length storage box. SOLUTION: The extra-length storage box 5 having a guide part 5a which is mounted into a storage rack or optical branch unit in a free insertion/ extraction state and wound with a terminal of an optical fiber tape 2a and a storage part 5b which contains the wound optical fiber tape terminal 2a is constituted as to meet a condition expressed by a/2.(14-π)+6b+30(π-26)>L, where (a) is the height, (b) is the width, and L is the extra-length processing length of the terminal of the optical fiber tape 2a. Consequently, the extra-length storage box which can store many optical fiber tapes separated from the terminated cable efficiently is obtained without any waste by performing the extra- length processing. |
