Work such as waste materials are treated by utilizing a lifting force of a fork lift truck. A work treating machine is constructed by combining a ride-over plate, a receiving board, and, preferably, further a force increasing mechanism. The receiving board is fixed relative to the ground by driving the front wheels of fork lift truck onto the ride-over plate, and the ride-over plate and the receiving board are used as two final load supporting points that can resist the lifting force of the fork lift truck, whereby the lifting force, or, preferably, an increased lifting force is converted into a compression force, which is then converted into a force of another form directly or by using an attachment for application onto the work.
