An information processor which allows a plurality of operating systems to make access to a file name recorded on a recording medium according to their own specifications, a file name changing method, and a recording medium on which a program of a file name conversion method is recorded. An information processor wherein access to a file recorded on a recording medium is made in accordance with the specifications of any one of operating systems, comprises means for changing a first file name given according to the specifications of the operating system used for generation-of-file/change-of-file-name to a second file name according to specifications of the operating system used for making access to the file. Since the means is adapted to all the operating systems, file access is easily made by using any of the operating systems.
