PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the assembling process of a phased sprocket assembly. SOLUTION: Idler cam sprocket 24, 26 each having outer sprocket teeth of first number of teeth and inner sprocket teeth of second number of teeth are disposed on a spline 40 on an idler shaft. In this case each of idler cam sprocket 24, 26 is offset on the circumference such that the outer sprocket teeth of the idler cam sprocket 24 rotates a given number of sprocket teeth with respect to the outer sprocket of the idler cam sprocket 26. This structure allows the idler sprocket assembly 34 to be constructed from different sprockets each offset to other, allowing manufacturing process to be facilitated. |
