PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce rolling resistance of a tire by providing a tread pattern capable of facilitating deflection of a tread when it is advanced into contact (and retreated from contact) simultaneously with very small generating deformation of a thickness of the tread over a large part of a contact zone. SOLUTION: In a tread 5 of a tire 1 having a carcass reinforcement 2 to be reinforced by a reinforcing belt 3, the tread 5 is provided with a so-called rolling surface 6 divided into at least one peripheral direction strip. A plurality of notches having a short length in a lateral direction are provided in each partitioning peripheral direction strip. In each partitioning peripheral direction strip, peripheral direction notch ratio, capable of reducing an energy amount wastefully consumed by deformation when the tire is rolled, is determined. |
