Computer data transmission method using lighting system wiring

The method involves a computer network which transmits data to different points in a building, by using the earth and ground leakage current protection lines of the lighting system wiring. The earth line is identified and this results in a relay being operated to connect the output of the transmittance unit to the receiver. Diodes are provided in the line to minimise the disturbance effect of defective components. The computer generated data can be amplitude or frequency modulated.
