PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a support body for ink jet recording sheet which is particularly excellent in adhesion of an image receiving layer which receives a hydrophilic ink, and provide an ink jet recording sheet. SOLUTION: On at least one surface of a white polyester film having a single layer or laminated structure, an easy-to-adhere layer which contains a resin having a sulfonic acid group or a sulfonic acid base and an amino group as side chains is formed. A support body for ink jet recording sheet wherein a masking degree of the surface of the easy-to-adhere layer is 0.2 or above and a value (b) is less than 2 is provided and an ink image receiving layer is formed on the surface of the easy-to-adhere layer of the support body.
