A shower head (10) for receiving water under gravity or low pressure comprising a nozzle (11), a connector (44, 45) for attaching the nozzle to a water conduit (P) and a vaned impeller (17A) disposed within a cylindrical passage of the connector and having a plurality of helical vanes (18A) connected to and radiating outward from a central core, the end portion of the core (19A) which faces the incoming stream of water being substantially conical. Another embodiment of the invention utilizes a vaned impeller that provides an axial passage (17B).
