Molybdenum bushings (4,5,9;10; 14,15) in an electric lamp with quartz glass bulb are part of at least one crimped seal of the bulb, the seal having at least one Mo foil crimped in to form a gas-tight seal. The foil or foils is or are doped with alkali and alkaline earth-free silicates and/or aluminates and/or borates of one or several elements of Groups 3b and/or group 4b of the periodic system of elements. Preferably, the proportion of dopants in the foil or foils is 0.01-1.0 wt. %, particularly 0.2-0.8 wt. %, and the alkali and alkaline earth element content is less than 15 ppm. Lamp is preferably a high pressure discharge lamp.
