PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pixel density converting device with which power consumption is reduced by inactivating a line memory not to be used corresponding to a magnification. SOLUTION: A density calculation part 5 performs pixel density conversion depending on the method of projection. A line memory operation control part 9 judges the line memory required for the calculation of density at the density calculation part 5 according to a magnification 4, operates that line memory and performs control for inactivating the unwanted line memory. At such a time, concerning the line memory to be used just temporarily, the operation of input to the line memory is executed according to a line synchronizing signal 3 at preceding timing rather than timing to require a delayed image signal, and the operation/non-operation of that line memory is controlled so that the delayed image signal can be outputting at the required timing. Thus, power consumption at line memories is reduced. |
