PURPOSE:To reduce such an inconvenience as re-insertion of a card due to inability to correctly read magnetic information, by constituting the titled reader so that the magnetic information can be read together at the time of inserting and drawing out the card. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic head 8 is provided on a card guide path 7 being in the vicinity of a card inserted port 6, so that read of magnetic information can be executed against a magnetic stripe on a card 1 which is inserted or drawn out by this magnetic head. On a prescribed part of the card guide path 7, a switch 9 being a detector for detecting an inserted state of the card 1 is provided, and when the card 1 is inserted and reaches a prescribed position, the switch 9 detects it and turns on. In this way, at the time of inserting and drawing out the card, the magnetic information can be read together, therefore, a fact that the magnetic information cannot be read and a user inserts the card again can be decreased.
