PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carbon monoxide selective oxidation catalyst and a methanol selective oxidation catalyst which are uniform with higher performance. SOLUTION: An alumina pellet adsorbing ruthenium chloride is heated at a prescribed temperature in the hydrogen reduction atmosphere, so as to obtain a ruthenium catalyst by reducing ruthenium (step S56). By adjusting this reducing temperature, a grain size of the ruthenium supported the alumina pellet can be adjusted. For instance, by setting in the reducing temperature to 200 to 350 deg.C, the grain size of the ruthenium obtains 0.3 to 10nm, a carbon monoxide selective oxidation catalyst oxidizing carbon monoxide in hydrogen rich gas selectively more surely can be obtained, by setting the reducing temperature to 300 to 900 deg.C, the grain size of the ruthenium obtains 5 to 100nm, a methanol selective oxidation catalyst oxidizing methanol in hydrogen rich gas selectively more surely can be obtained. |
