PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove the main scanning direction positional, deviation of an optical beam to form its image on a scanned face by a simple method. SOLUTION: When optical beams A, B are made incident on a scanned face so as to form a prescribed angle from the normal of the scanned face, the image forming positions of the beams A, B are deviated in the main scanning direction. When an fθlens 20 is eccentrically arranged so that two optical beams are made incident at asymmetrical height, angles refracted in the main scanning directions are different in the two optical beams. The eccentric angle of the fθlens 20 is controlled so that the positional deviation of the main scanning direction is canceled.
