PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an inhibitor of biosynthesis of a triglyceride, comprising aureothin as an active ingredient and useful for reducing the triglyceride in blood in hypertriglyceridemia and further as a preventing agent for arteriosclerosis. SOLUTION: This medicinal composition includes the inhibitor of biosynthesis of a triglyceride, an inhibitor of acetyl-CoA carboxylases, an inhibitor of the fatty acid synthase group and a lowering agent for the triglyceride in blood comprising aureothin represented by the formula, etc., as active ingredients. For example, the aureothin is found in Streptomyces thioluteus and the daily dose thereof for an adult is preferably 1μg to 1mg. |
