Method for thermal sanitation of surfaces threatened by pollution as well as means for working the method. By a method for sanitation of surfaces threatened by pollution within primary production, food, drink and tobacco industries and medical production, the surfaces threatened by pollution are applied with a protective layer of a melted nutrient which can form a tight, anhydrous, water-insoluble and aseptic film, onto which any pollution can be deposited, following which the pollution may be removed by total or partial melting away of the film by applying thermal energy. In this way, any production facility may be sanitised in a very short time, with a low resource allocation and without any use of chemicals.
