The invention concerns a method of producing pig iron, non-ferrous metal alloys, ferrochromium carbides or carbon-free ferrochromium and synthetic blast furnace slag using residues of incinerated waste or slag containing metal oxides. According to the invention the materials used in wasteincineration, such as for example light fractions obtained from vehicle shredders and blast furnace dusts, are (1) oxidized at least partially and then reduced, with the deposition of nonferrous metals or alloys. The oxidic slag phase, depleted of metals or alloys, is then (3) mixed with liquid steelworks slag, optionally with the further addition of blast furnace dusts, whereupon, as the viscosity of the steelworks slag is reduced, raw steel is extracted, and (4) the remaining slag portion is subjected to further reduction, producing pig iron and possibly ferrochromium alloys. The resultant synthetic blast furnace slag is then discharged.
|
