PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a charge imparting agent and toners which have excellent electrostatic charge stability and are adequate and stable in printing density with substantially no occurrence of staining of copies under the adverse influence at the time of continuous use by constituting an electrostatic charge image developing charge control agent of a specific compd. SOLUTION: This electrostatic charge image developing charge control agent is the compd. expressed by the formula and the toners and the charge imparting agent are obtd. by using such control agent. In the formula, Ar1 , Ar2 , denote arom. group ring residues which respectively may have substituents; X denotes >=1 kind of the groups selected from a group consisting of -CONH-, -NHCO-, -SO2 NH-, and -NHSO2 -; (n) denotes a natural number of >=2. Plural Ar2 or plural X may be different from each other. Such toners contain at least the charge control agent, resin and coloring agents. Other charge control agents including known charge control agents, for example, nigrosine dyes, quaternary ammonium salts, metal-contg. complex compds., etc., may also be incorporated into the toners, separately from the compd. expressed by the formula.
